Head of Data & AI

You will play a crucial role in shaping our data and artificial intelligence (AI) strategy and driving its execution across the organisation.You will build and lead a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts to unlock insights from data, develop advanced AI models, and drive innovation in leveraging data-driven decision-making processes.
What you’ll do:
- Strategy Development: Develop and execute the overarching data and AI strategy in alignment with organisational goals and objectives. Drive initiatives to harness the power of data and AI technologies to enhance business outcomes and drive innovation.
- Data Management: Establish robust data governance frameworks and policies to ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of data assets. Oversee the development and implementation of data management processes, including data acquisition, storage, processing, and analysis.
- AI Development: Lead the development and deployment of AI models and algorithms to solve complex business problems and drive operational efficiencies. Drive innovation in AI methodologies, techniques, and tools to stay at the forefront of the industry.
- Advanced Analytics: Oversee the development and implementation of advanced analytics solutions, including predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics, and optimisation algorithms. Drive initiatives to extract actionable insights from data to support strategic decision-making.
- Data Infrastructure: Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of scalable and robust data infrastructure and architecture. Evaluate and implement technologies and platforms to support the storage, processing, and analysis of large and complex datasets.
- Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and retain top talent in the data and AI space. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the data and AI team members to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including business units, IT, and other functional areas, to understand business requirements and priorities. Build strong relationships and partnerships to drive alignment and support for data and AI initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of data and AI initiatives. Monitor and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
What you’ll bring:
- Proficiency in data management concepts and practices, including data modelling, ETL processes, and data quality management.
- Expertise in AI and machine learning techniques, algorithms, and frameworks, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and deep learning architectures.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java for data manipulation, analysis, and model development.
- Experience with big data technologies and platforms, such as Hadoop, Spark, and distributed computing frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data services and solutions, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques for communicating insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance regulations, such as GDPR and HIPAA.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities, with the ability to drive vision and inspire teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business insights and recommendations.
