AI Engineer

The Artificial Intelligence Engineer designs state-of-the-art software for autonomous control of industrial processes. They apply a broad range of AI techniques confidently, including both symbolic and machine learning methods. They develop proofs of concept and new software products. They are skilled programmers themselves, but also able to specify designs for dedicated software developers.

The Artificial Intelligence Engineer is part of a diverse multidisciplinary team. Strong collaboration skills are essential. They are an adept communicator and contribute as a subject matter expert to multiple ANDRITZ business units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities may include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Design and deploy symbolic and machine learning based AI solutions using appropriate algorithms and techniques.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design specifications, and developer guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the development team.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure the seamless integration of AI systems into the overall infrastructure, considering deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to incorporate relevant advancements into the software architecture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or similar.
  • Prior experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and decision-making.
  • Programming skills in Python, C#, or any other programming language
  • Familiarity with data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed; estimated 20%

Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities and experience include:

  • Graduate degree in computer science, engineering, math, or similar
  • Innovative mind with a passion for continuous learning.
  • Competency with Distributed Control System configuration
  • Competency with cloud machine learning applications (Azure preferred)
  • Able to write robust code in Python and familiarity with relevant libraries.
  • Prior experience in reinforcement learning and simulation

Salary range: 103,000 to 150,000 based on a 40-hour work week.
