AI Engineering Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Engineering Manager to join our Fashion team at Meero, focusing on our AutoRetouch product line. As part of a 10-person startup-like team within Meero, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing the production and editing of images for e-commerce through cutting-edge AI technologies.

About the Team and Products:

Our Fashion team is dedicated to developing AutoRetouch, an advanced suite of AI-driven tools designed to transform image production and editing for large brands and marketplaces in the B2B e-commerce space. The core challenge is to develop and deploy AI algorithms at scale, capable of processing tens of millions of images annually.

AutoRetouch consists of two main products:

  • AI Image Enhancement: Automates the retouching process of pre-captured photos using advanced image segmentation and generative AI techniques, such as shadow creation. This product is already in the market and serving multiple clients, streamlining their image production workflows.
  • AI Image Generation: Focuses on generating high-quality images that showcase real clothes on AI-generated models. This product is currently in the pre-product-market fit stage, with significant potential and for innovation and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of engineers (Computer Vision, Data, Fullstack), fostering top-tier performance and a collaborative, innovative work environment.
  • Tech Vision: Direct our AI endeavors to ensure they remain at the cutting edge of technology. Oversee the development of two products: one mature product and another pre-market fit product focused on generative AI.
  • Technical Strategy: Define and drive the technical strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals while leveraging the latest advancements in AI and machine learning.
  • Hands-on Contribution: Maintain a hands-on approach in coding and problem-solving, providing technical guidance and best practices to support the team.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including product management, translating tech potentials into impactful, market-ready offerings.
  • Quality Guardian: Establish and uphold quality control measures, guaranteeing the reliability and precision of our tech outputs.
  • Performance Management: Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and support professional development within the team.


  • At least 7 years in software engineering, with a strong background in computer vision. Advanced degrees (Ph.D. or Master’s) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or related fields are highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in building, implementing and deploying cutting-edge machine learning and AI models on industry settings. Strong experience in Python and Pytorch. Familiar with DevOps principles: CI/CD, Cloud technologies, and Docker.
  • Over 3 years of successfully managing high-performing, diverse software engineering teams (ML, Front-end, Back-end).
  • Capable of seamlessly switching between hands-on execution and providing strategic advice, adapting to the needs of the situation.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders and demonstrated success in developing and executing AI strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment, driving your team to excel by viewing changes as opportunities to add structure and order where needed.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive projects involving complex technical challenges and take full responsibility for problems, ensuring end-to-end solutions.
  • Strong English and French communication skills, both written and verbal.
