As AI Governance & Ethics Manager, your role will involve shaping and leading client projects and advising clients about responsible AI, with a focus on AI governance, risk management and policy. In this capacity, you will act as a subject matter expert in AI ethics and AI governance.

As this is a fast-moving space, you will be expected to keep track of the latest developments in AI policy, standards and regulation. You will leverage this knowledge to also advise our internal governance team and help to continuously improve our own policies, standards and best practices in responsible and ethical management of data and AI. In addition, there will be opportunity to upon occasion engage in industry engagements, pre-sales and marketing support.

As AI Governance & Ethics Manager, you will have a direct positive impact on the development of our own technology and that of our clients. We are looking for someone with a strong background in governance and/or risk management, who understands AI ethics and has a passion for it. AI ethics and governance best practice is in constant development and there will be room to learn, develop and grow.

You will be part of Kainos’ AI Ethics & Governance team, which sits within our Data & AI (artificial intelligence) practice.

Minimum (essential) Requirements:

  • Demonstrable expertise in corporate governance, risk management and/or policy
  • Demonstrable expertise in AI ethics trends, themes and good practices
  • Ability to simplify and clearly communicate ideas, including ethical concerns, in conversation, documentation and presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, including C-level stakeholders
  • Critical-thinking skills, openness to different perspectives and a desire to constantly learn and develop
  • A track-record of self-directed learning

DESIRABLE:

  • Firm understanding of AI regulation, governance and standards landscape
  • Experience with the development of an AI ethics strategy, policy, and/or ethical data and AI processes and practices
  • Subject matter expertise in data governance
  • Relevant work experience using data science and machine learning to solve business problems
  • Experience implementing GDPR and/or other data protection requirements at an enterprise-level
