AI Technical Project Manager

Position Description:

Lead a team of personnel consisting of cloud engineers, AI engineers, AI scientists, data scientists, developers, and subcontractors. The project manager will work closely with product, research, and engineering leaders to formulate project plans, schedule, cost, and risk, manage and identify resource requirements, adhere to government policies on information technology governance, and optimize resources to achieve project outcomes. This position is contingent on modification to an existing government contract with a PoP through September 2027.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a project to migrate AI software to classified cloud infrastructure, integrate new data sources, and revise the corresponding AI models and outputs.
  • Develop project plans and associated plans to achieve government objectives
  • Assign tasks to appropriate personnel and manage performance against project and company objectives
  • Direct and inspire engineering teams to develop innovative, high-quality products
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth among engineering managers, software engineers, architects, and technical leaders
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define compelling product and technology plans, emphasizing agile development and delivery
  • Set clear objectives with measurable results, driving team and individual accountability
  • Mentor and coach engineers, guiding them in their professional development
  • Align people, capacity, and dependencies to deliver on priorities and objectives
  • Ensure productive collaboration, cooperation, and communication with product, engineering, research, operations, and support teams

Skills:

  • Proven experience in the technology product industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of product development and innovation
  • Experience planning and executing using an Agile framework
  • Experience in developing and delivering modern software as a service (SaaS) products
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native scalable systems, particularly on private clouds in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Proficiency in modern DevSecOps principles
  • Exceptional ability to connect with people, form relationships, and work cross-functionally to achieve shared goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related computing field
  • An agile project management certification such as Project Management Institute Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), CompTIA Project+, Certified ScrumMaster, or Project Management Professional
  • Experience supporting an authority to operate (ATO) for new software at IL-5 or IL-6 impact levels
  • 5+ years experience planning and executing using an Agile framework
  • 3+ years experience in cloud-based SaaS delivery
  • Pursuant to Executive Order 12968, August 2, 1995, this position requires U.S. citizenship
  • Current U.S. government top secret clearance with eligibility for SCI and counterintelligence scope polygraph
  • Ability to work in cleared government facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR)
  • Local travel between government facilities up to 40 miles multiple times per month (expensed)
  • Occasional monthly travel outside of the NCR to Accrete company locations in New York and Boston

Salary Range: $160,000 – $190,000

Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

The ideal candidate will have experience in the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community leading an IT or software project on a classified network, and be comfortable engaging people in person, be conscientious about gathering and sharing information, have a bias for action in the absence of direction and prior examples, and be able to use technical outcomes and client value as the basis for dispassionate persuasion and decisions.
