Job Description:

We are looking for a Lead AI/ML Scientist who loves to solve complex problems and has experience with Natural Language processing and Machine learning. As a Lead AI/ML Scientist, you will grow and shape a team that will develop and apply cutting edge algorithms to make traditionally slow, rote, and ultra-high stakes workflows efficient, while maintaining and instilling customer trust. You will lead AI research and oversee the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI technologies that are central to building a deep moat for an indelible brand in M&A. You and your team will build technology that the smartest minds in finance will rely upon every day. Your work will be highly visible to the executive team and will inform the strategic direction of the company.

In This Role, You Will:

• Lead the growth of a high-caliber AI research team.
• Set industry-leading standards for AI R&D processes tailored to our sophisticated and high-stakes customer base.
• Work closely with product management to align and develop AI strategy and the long-term product strategy

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of AI researchers, data scientists; set standards for AI R&D processes to meet the sophisticated needs of customers involved in high-stakes M&A transactions.
• Partner with Product Leadership to inform and guide AI R&D strategy.
• Oversee the optimization of existing and development of new AI models and algorithms that power foundational products within Datasite.
• Develop and orchestrate delivery of technical roadmap to build a market-differentiating LLM-powered M&A Deal Assistant that makes document review, document organization and distribution, and Q&A processes efficient.
• Establish benchmarks and metrics for model performance, ensuring solutions meet high standards of accuracy and reliability tailored to detailed customer requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AI advancements, applying the latest research findings to continuous improvement of AI solutions and advocating for best practices in AI application.

Qualifications:

• Advanced Degree (PhD preferred) or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related fields.
• 10+ years hands on experience in applied AI research in progressively senior or lead role.
• Experience leading and growing AI teams, with a history of developing AI projects from conception to implementation, particularly in sophisticated and regulated environments.
• Proven leadership skills: mentoring, guiding teams through the adoption of novel solutions and new technology, bar-raising, and motivating colleagues to innovate.
• Expert in Python deep learning frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch)
• Expert in AI/ML applications on large scale unstructured text data using deep learning, transformers and LLMs
• Experience implementing AI workflows on Azure or other major cloud platforms
• Strong publication record and a commitment to advancing industry knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions that enhance product offerings and customer satisfaction.
• Natural inclination to seek understanding of customers, consider business context, and learn from shipping code.

• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in conjunction with team members and product groups.
• Enthusiasm and flexibility to work on a variety of projects is necessary, as well as the ability to rapidly acquire new domain familiarity.

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate’s compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position. Datasite reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.

$146,520 – $260,300
