The opportunity:

As a Natural Language Processing (NLP) Data Scientist at OKRA, you will be at the forefront of creating NLP pipelines and ensuring product reliability. The NLP Data Scientist plays a key role in building new capabilities that can be leveraged to capture insights in unstructured free-text data to drive appropriate actions and desired outcomes for healthcare and life sciences.

Role responsibilities:

• Define and build systems to model unstructured data sets to generate insights for clinical problems that NLP techniques can solve.
• Apply NLP techniques and statistical analysis to extract and validate data generated.
• Build and prototype NLP pipelines to iteratively provide insights at scale.
• Contribute to defining and testing our products in the broadest sense possible, including testing for AI bias, transparency, and reliability.
• Work closely with the engineering and data science teams to drive product releases.

Do you have what we are looking for?

• Master’s or PhD in NLP, Computational Linguistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience with real-world applications in the NLP field.
• Experience with generative language models and LLMs fine-tuning, and deployment to production.
• Practical experience with Machine Learning algorithms is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AWS is a plus.
• Proficient in modern Python programming.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and tools such as Jira.
• Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
• Proficient in English.
• Ability to work in our Leiden office 3 days per week.
