NLP-specialist Conversational AI (Junior)

As a Conversational AI (NLP) Specialist you work on Achmea’s AI chat and voice solutions. You are responsible for designing, building and managing the conversational flow. You do this in an agile team, which consists of a scrum master, Python developer, NLP specialists and the business. Together you build our virtual assistants. You do this for various Achmea brands such as Centraal Beheer, Interpolis and Zilveren Kruis. In this position you contribute to the development of Achmea into an innovative digital insurer and service provider.

With the scrum team you translate business rules, insurance terms and conditions into smart dialogues. You do this on our own conversational AI platform. You work on innovative projects within Achmea.

The Knowledge Management & Artificial Intelligence (KAI) team is growing rapidly and is mainly active in the field of Conversational and Generative AI, where virtual assistants are designed and offered to our customers and smart generative language models are deployed. Virtual assistants are one of the primary communication channels to Achmea’s customers. In addition to NLP, other AI domains will also be served from this department (e.g. synthetic media, summarization, OCR / image recognition).

The Department:

The Knowledge Management & AI team now consists of almost 40 colleagues, spread over the Tilburg and Apeldoorn locations. It is an informal and diverse team, where collegiality is very important. Due to the many technological developments, there are many training options, both in terms of content and soft skills. Knowledge development is central to us, and we safeguard this by offering both formal training opportunities and informal sessions in which peers share their knowledge.

Your background:

• HBO/WO working and thinking level
• Demonstrable affinity with (Conversational) AI.
• Basic programming experience (e.g. Python) or interest in learning this.
• Knowledge of Graph techniques / logic is an advantage.
• Language sense and good communication skills.
• You are analytical and solution-oriented.

You are enterprising and proactive. We think it is important that you enjoy learning new things every day. Result is important to you, but the road to achieving it and the learnings you can gain from it are also important to you in your daily work. You are used to working in an Agile environment and find this a pleasant way of working. We expect you to work at the office in Apeldoorn at least one day a week (more is always possible!) and to be willing to travel to Tilburg or Zeist occasionally if the work requires it.
