Project Manager AI & Sensing

As the R&D Project Manager AI & Sensing, you are part of the Signify Research PMO where you lead innovation projects, thereby being in the driver’s seat to shape the project, define the project goals, steer a team of subject matter experts, and control the project budget. Equally you must have active in-depth knowledge in key technical domains AI and Sensing to increase the efficiency of the organization (a project manager can deal with technical discussions autonomously), and to enable the quality of the technical solutions.

What You’ll Do:
Based on KARs for Project managers in Research, the R&D Project Manager AI & Sensing is expected to define, manage and control cross-functional integral projects in-line with relevant procedures, including:
- Create (integral) project plans in co-operation with stakeholders, have charter approved by project sponsor
- Define / confirm value of project to stakeholders, either Research or business
- Prepare, execute and control project management plan (planning, budget, cost, quality, organization, information, risk management)
- Define “work packages” and secure follow-up thereon (PDCA)
- Lead project team, coordinate activities of project leaders of sub-projects (e.g. of multi-site projects)
- Manage project connection to stakeholders, reporting of the projects
- Provide input for PPM of project team members
- Close, evaluate project, disseminate learning to project management community and others as relevant
With respect to the technical domain AI & Sensing, the candidate is expected to:
- Contribute to Research strategy (Roadmaps/Funnels) in AI and Sensing
- Contribute to the Research program definition in AI and Sensing
- Contribute personally to technical content in the projects he/she is leading in AI and Sensing
- Interact with technical stakeholders / technical reviews (business R&D, technology partners, research staff) in AI and Sensing
- Keep knowledge of the domains AI and Sensing up to date with respect to external developments
Your Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience in sensing, 1-2 years experience in AI and 1-2 years experience in Project Management in an Innovation/Research context.
- Knowledge on relevant range of technologies in the domains AI and Sensing.
- Experience with assessing new technologies/trends in order to maximize value extraction.
- Experience with stakeholder management
- Experience in applying I2M knowledge with expertise in principles and practices across the I2M value chain.
- Self-driven, experienced and highly motivated individual to be part of the team
