Senior AI/ML Engineer

The Scientific and Cloud Computing team in AbbVie Information Research is looking for a highly motivated Senior AI/ML Engineer that will be responsible for the optimization and deployment of AI/ML solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AWS, Docker and Kubernetes/EKS, and High Performance Computing (HPC), along with multiple automation/DevOps toolsets and practices. This candidate should have the experience and ability to provide consultation and support cloud and HPC solutions with a focus on best practices and security. This role will be partner closely with our internal AI/ML scientists and be a primary collaborator when scaling up exploratory work and when deploying solutions into a production environment.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Works directly with AI/ML scientists on optimization and production deployment of solutions
• Optimize and support large-scale GPU workloads
• Support for application deployments, not limited to but including assisting with HELM Charts, CloudFormation Templates, Jenkins Pipeline configuration, and slurm-based workloads
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support the engineering and implementation of AI/ML solutions
• Adheres to corporate standards regarding applicable corporate and divisional policies.

Experiences that make you a strong fit for this role:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 5 years’ experience; PhD with 0 years’ experience.
• Experience in designing, executing, and supporting services such as AWS, AWS EKS and Docker.
• Experience with Python/Pytorch, SQL, Neo4j, and Elasticsearch
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and automation
• Linux OS administration experience (Windows a plus).
• Experience with High Performance Computing, especially GPU workload
• Recent work experience health care/life science organization is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills
