The Opportunity:
Adobe Research is seeking a Senior Research Scientist in computer graphics, computer vision and machine learning to join the Graphics and 3D Imaging Research organization with offices based in North America (San Jose, San Francisco, and Seattle). This is an exciting opportunity to imagine and build the creative tools of the future! You will be working with a world-class team of research scientists and engineers to invent algorithms for hard research problems, and incorporate these algorithms into Adobe products, thus putting your work in the hands of millions of creative artists and designers. Our lab encourages publication of research ideas and supports collaborative research efforts with academic institutions. Our internship program provides an influx of new ideas, making our lab an exciting place for technical growth.
What You Will Do:
- Pursue research problems in computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning, especially focused on generative AI methods for content creation across 3D, vectors and images, AI/ML-based 3D-aware image and video editing, and AI/ML-based reconstruction and rendering
- Collaborate with other researchers at Adobe to invent state-of-the-art algorithms for generating synthetic data for these problems
- Patent these algorithms and publish them at the premier computer graphics, vision, and machine learning venues.
- Build and iterate over functional prototypes of tools based on the generated data.
- Collaborate with product groups to integrate these prototypes into Adobe’s products.
What You Will Need To Succeed:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field, with a focus on computer graphics, computer vision and/or machine learning
- Minimum of two years of proven experience doing state-of-the-art research and translating that research into product impact
- Experience with crowdsourcing / human-in-a-loop data annotation.
- Experience with large-scale data organization and annotation at scale (e.g. , distilling 3D information from video, using generative AI tools to create synthetic data, etc…)
- Procedural modeling & synthetic data for analysis-by-synthesis or computer graphics applications.
- Familiarity with 3D content creation tools and their APIs (e.g., Blender, Maya, Blender, C4D, etc.)
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: 3D graphics, 3D vision, deep neural networks, generative models for content synthesis, image processing, computational photography
- A strong personal research track record including peer-reviewed publications in top computer vision, graphics, and machine learning venues.
- Strong Python and deep learning development skills and experience with one or more training or deployment environments (PyTorch, Tensorflow)
- Experience with design of high-level APIs and frameworks
- A passion for building creative tools with delightful user experiences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Welcome expertise:
- Strong C++ development skills
