Position Summary:

Senior Software Engineers – AI within the Life Time Technology group are responsible for leading delivery of the technical design and development of software components for assigned products. This individual will be one of the initial team members on an agile delivery team focused on developing AI powered functionality.

This engineer will need to lead the team to leverage cutting edge techniques with LLM’s, Generative AI, Chatbots, and Machine learning.

Job Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formation and growth of the agile delivery team, serving as the first engineer and taking charge of team dynamics, collaboration, and performance.
  • Develop and articulate a technical vision and strategy for the AI solutions team, aligning it with overall company goals and objectives.
  • Leverage expertise with generative AI, LLM’s and machine learning to drive innovation and implement solutions
  • Increase efficiency of team by mentoring other team members and help foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
  • Understand and communicate technical and functional design requirements to other team members.
  • Support and help guide the engineering team to create the systems architecture.
  • Identify system deficiencies and proactively recommend/implement solutions
  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to identify problems and opportunities for AI solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, UI/UX, and product managers to ensure easy integration and effectiveness of AI solutions.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in the software industry
  • Proven track record of leading AI development teams, specifically focusing on Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and conversational AI solutions, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, AI Chat, machine learning, recommendation systems, data mining, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency in programming language such as JavaScript or Python
  • Knowledge of API interfaces required to support conversational dialog
  • 2+ years of practical experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Kubernetes and Docker for deployment and containerization.
  • Strong experience with Agile and Scrum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cloud Computing in tools like Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Experience with CI/CD helping to move the team forward in maturity
  • Experience with automated testing and Test Driven Development
  • Experience with source control (Git)
  • Experience with Agile Method
  • Strong communicator able to explain complex technical situations to relatively non-technical co-workers and key business stakeholders
  • Cool under pressure, able to simultaneously manage many details and priorities
  • Able to lead a complex technical project through to completion
  • Solution oriented mindset creative use of technology and alternative approaches.
  • Able to work with teams to balance solution vs budget, schedule and tools
  • Equally able to work with creative, business and technical people
  • Has appreciation of marketing strategy and business strategy and ability to determine the best technical solutions to support these strategies
  • Focus on broad technical expertise
