Sr. Data Scientist & Algorithm Developer

We are now looking for a colleague to join our team in Tognana, Italy as a Sr. Data Scientist & Algorithm Developer.

Job overview: We are seeking a data scientist and algorithm developer candidate to join our Advanced Monitoring and Control Software Team. This person will provide technical expertise and leadership in Thermal Algorithm development in the areas of optimization and conditional based maintenance. This position will look holistically across the portfolio and help identify opportunities for advanced algorithm development and then take those ideas to production driving significant customer value around the world.

What you’ll do? As a key team player, your responsibilities include:

  • Requirements analysis: Requirements gathering, algorithm prototyping, data analysis, test campaign design;
  • Project management: Project planning, task estimation, version control;
  • Full lifecycle algorithm development: Design, review, testing, integration assistance to firmware developers;
  • Documentation: Program commentary, user guides for service and troubleshooting;
  • Product testing: Unit testing, system integration testing, and field test suppor;
  • Leadership: Effective lead engineer, consistent positive attitude, creativity, accepts broad responsibility;
  • Other tasks and activities as required by management.

What makes you successful? Bring your passion and expertise with:

  • An engineering undergraduate degree with exceptional experience and/or PhD in Thermodynamics, Physics, or Engineering discipline is required;
  • 5-10 years Expertise with HVAC, data manipulation and algorithm/code design:
  • HVAC Thermodynamics and Various Refrigerant Cycles;
  • Single phase, Two Phase, and Direct to Chip Liquid Cooling experience a plus;
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis;
  • Experience with real HVAC testing in Lab environments (propose, execute, evaluate);
  • Experience with control design, numerical optimization, machine learning, artificial intelligence;
  • Experience with development of complex mathematical algorithms;
  • Understanding of Algorithm to Production Code conversion requirements;
  • Expertise with software programming languages including but not limited to:
  • Matlab, Python, LabView;
  • MySQL/SQL;
  • C++/C#;
  • Familiarity with software development environments and tools:
  • Source code version control / Git;
  • Visual Studio/Code;
  • Fluency in English.
