About The Role:
This is a research intern position within the Advanced Robotics team in the Corporate Engineering and R&D department. The Advanced Robotics team is focused on developing novel technologies that give robots human-like capabilities in perception and dexterity. The candidate will design, develop, deploy and manage AI software for AI applications related to Robotic Manipulation tasks. The candidate will get a chance to work under the guidance of an AI Technical Specialist. Magna’s Student Program provides students the opportunity to gain practical work experience in their area of study related to the automotive industry.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop or improve applications, algorithms and approaches in our AI software for Robotics Manipulation tasks.
  • Design, develop or deploy software solutions for our AI, ML & DL pipelines.
  • Create representative case study to understand solution capabilities and limitations.
  • Develop evaluation criteria to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the systems.
  • Present technical results and provide recommendations based on the case study.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Prior experience in MLOps, DevOps and writing software for creating AI applications.
  • Knowledge of ML, DL theory.
  • Experience in training, deploying applications using ML workflows like PyTorch/TensorFlow, Python and DL tools.
  • Prior experience with running model training and inference.
  • Excellent coding and scripting abilities in Python
  • Good understanding of Robotics fundamentals.
  • Curious, Team Player and ability to thrive in collaborative, small team environment.

Your Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current higher education student; preferably in a graduate program focused on implementing Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep learning-based solutions for Robotics or hardware-interface based applications.
