Copywriter, Creative Marketing

Amazon is seeking a Copywriter to lead the creation of copy on our global creative marketing team, supporting our recruitment goals. You know how to write concise and strategic messaging that drives crucial recruitment marketing initiatives, inspires customers, and creates business results. You are well-versed in concepting, writing, and executing innovative messaging for multiple types of paid and owned media executions, website content, and email marketing. You tell stories that connect brands with customers in a meaningful way, across different channels, creating work that’s on strategy and delivers results. You understand how to apply a consistent brand voice that is unique and engaging across various audiences. You live by the rule of brand guidelines but are flexible and agile when creating something that may go against the grain if it will wow a customer. You have been on teams with designers, producers, strategists, and other creatives in a symbiotic partnership of combining words with visuals. You are ego-free and highly collaborative, working with a diverse group of people and learning from them. You welcome the opportunity to review marketing materials for quality control, never miss a period, and know the difference between widows and orphans.

Key job responsibilities

This role resides on the Global Creative Services team within Workforce Staffing, Marketing. Core responsibilities include:

Write copy for paid and owned channels, including website, emails, and customer-facing communications
Maintain messaging decks and brand guidelines for all audiences, campaigns, and other marketing initiatives
Collaborate with internal creative partners to provide the best content solutions for business needs
Drive best practices, continuous improvement, and recommendations for message innovation

Role is hybrid; work in the office at least 3 days a week. Office locations are Seattle or Nashville.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience on a creative team in an ad agency or corporate marketing department
  • An online writing portfolio demonstrating a blend of short-form and long-form writing that can extend into any medium
  • Expert in Microsoft Word and Proficient in Microsoft Office, as it relates to communications and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Recruitment Marketing is a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience with SEO
  • Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite as it relates to working with designers
  • Background includes working as part of a global team with remote colleagues
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a demonstrated ability to apply them to internal processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
