Senior Robotic Engineer

Position Overview: RoboLabs is looking for a seasoned ML Lab Lead to oversee our Machine Learning initiatives, especially focusing on computer vision, classical machine learning, and sensor data processing within robotics. This role is crucial for advancing our projects in autonomous vehicles, warehouse robotics, and other cutting-edge robotic systems.
What will you do at Fynd?
- Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of robotic systems and applications, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards.
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of robotic hardware and software components, ensuring seamless interaction between various subsystems.
- Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes of robotic systems, conduct rigorous testing, and iterate designs based on test results and feedback.
- Algorithm Development: Create and optimise algorithms for robot control, navigation, perception, and decision-making.
- Project Management: Manage and coordinate robotics projects from concept to completion, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Research and Innovation: Conduct research on cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in robotics, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
- Problem Solving: Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues in robotic systems, implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of designs, processes, test results, and project milestones. Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to develop integrated robotic solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all robotic systems and components comply with relevant safety and quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency enhancements in robotic systems and development practices.
Some Specific Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Experience in specific industries such as manufacturing, WMS (WareHouse management systems), TMS (Transport management systems).
- Leadership: Prior experience in mentoring or leading engineering teams.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Strong knowledge of robotic frameworks (e.g., ROS – Robot Operating System).
- Experience with control systems, kinematics, and dynamics of robots.
- Familiarity with sensor integration, including cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, and other sensory devices.
- Expertise in developing and implementing algorithms for robot navigation, perception, and manipulation.
- Understanding of embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Experience with CAD software for designing robotic components.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and debugging.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI in logistics and transport systems
- Published research or contributions to open-source projects in relevant fields
- Knowledge of cloud computing and IoT integration in robotic systems
