Technical Lead, Generative AI

The Opportunity: The Generative AI Innovation team is transforming the way Litera and its clients leverage their data for competitive advantage. As a tech lead on this team, you will consult and collaborate with numerous engineering and non-engineering teams at Litera to architect and POC GenAI features and solutions for both our market products and internal processes. You will function as a company GenAI expert, helping Litera to fully leverage the ever-expanding capabilities of this set of technologies. A Day in the Life:
- Collaborate with Litera development teams to design, architect, and POC innovative GenAI -based products and features.
- Collaborate with non-engineering teams at Litera to leverage GenAI technologies and techniques to help develop solutions that improve the internal processes at the company.
- Research, evaluate, and document new technologies as they appear on the market.
- Function as a source for expert level knowledge of generative AI and other new technologies.
- Socialize new technologies throughout the company in
- Function as an evangelist for leveraging GenAI to responsibly benefit the company and our clients.
- Coach and mentor both developers and others to help develop GenAI skills and knowledge.
- Write clean, maintainable code that is extensible with minimum number of defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PM, QA) to complete tasks.
- Manage individual task priorities, estimates, deadlines, and deliverables
- Demonstrate knowledge of software and security best practices (i.e., object-oriented design patterns, OWASP Top 10, SOLID design principles).
- Deliver GenAI designs that scale
- Perform other duties as assigned
Role progression:
Within 1 month, you will:
- Complete our Engineering onboarding plan.
- Establish relationships with members of the GenAI innovation team.
- Become familiar with Litera product offerings.
- Learn the process of assisting other teams with GenAI projects.
- Begin technology research tasks.
- Assist the Director of Innovation and other team members with team tasks.
Within 3 months, you will:
- Collaborate with team members on PoC tasks.
- Produce documentation and evaluation of new technologies and their potential value for Litera.
- Communicate with other groups in the organization to evaluate the possibility of leveraging GenAI to address current process challenges and inefficiencies.
Within 6 months, you will:
- Collaborate with other team members to design, architect and POC robust features and products using GenAI and other new technologies.
- Translate product and feature ideas into technical designs and development tasks.
- Conduct sessions and webinars to disseminate new technology knowledge throughout the Engineering department.
- Define new opportunities for leveraging GenAI to improve Litera products and organizational processes.
About You:
- 8+ years of software development experience with strong competence in backend development
- 2+ years of ML/AI development experience including competence with:
- Large Language Models (preferably Azure OpenAI)
- Prompt Engineering
- LLM fine-tuning
- Embeddings/vectorization/semantic similarity
- RAG
- 5+ years of experience with the following technologies:
- .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Web/REST APIs
- 3+ years of experience with the following technologies:
- SQL Azure (preferred) or SQL Server
- PostgreSQL (preferred)
- Unit testing frameworks (i.e., Unknit, MSTest)
- 4+ years of experience with the following tools:
- GitHub
- Jira / Confluence
- Microsoft Visual Studio Code (preferred) or Microsoft Visual Studio
- Preferred skills/experience include:
- Competence coding in Python
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn
- Competence with random forest, histogram gradient modeling
- Experience with semantic agent development using Semantic Kernel and/or Langchain
- Competence using GitHub Copilot
- Education in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or related experience)
- Strong visioning and problem solving skills
- Independent thinker, collaborative teammate
- Excellent at multi-tasking and able to handle competing priorities
